Water damage
Today I was fixing some corrosion on the fantastic fan and noticed water damage!
So time to add this into list of tasks to complete. I believe the Herculiner may have soaked into the wood and been left too thin to protect the roof.

My husband says the Herculiner itself wouldn’t be enough. Perhaps you could take off the unit and put down a bead of silicone sealer. Then replace the unit squishing it down to form a nice seal. Cheap and easy fix!

I have a sealant gasket around the flange of the fantastic fan, its the wood / herculiner combo itself that failed due to the herculiner being too thin I think. between the sun and rain and winter.. it proved too much for the thin coat that was applied
